Speed Up Computer - Make Your Computer Run Faster Today!

Almost everyone owns a computer and some are not aware on how to maintain their computer in good shape. If the computer slows down there initial reaction is that the computer is infected with a virus. Though, this is true but not all the time it is the main cause of the problem. It may be as simple as there are programs that are running in the back ground that should not be and many more.

Speed up computer by searching for the main cause of the problem and treating it. Here are the main reasons why the computer slows down and how to deal with it:

1. There are sectors on the hard disk that is not used, which makes storing new files difficult. This will relatively slow down the computer because it will have a hard time looking for a good sector to store information. There might be an available sector but it is not enough so it will look for another available sector and so on.

To speed up computer, defrag the computer once in a while. Twice a month is ideal and you do not have to be in front of the computer all through out when doing this. All you need to do is start the Disk Defragment tool and choose the drive you want to defrag. Once it has started running then you can just leave it because it will take several hours to finish.

2. Corrupted files can cause the computer to slow down. It can also result to the computer crashing which makes it difficult for the computer to shut down. To speed up computer, use the Scan Disk tool included in Windows operating systems. This will search for files that are not being used in the computer and that are safe to delete.

The files include temporary Internet files, Cache, Cookies and files in the Recycle bin. You have the option to delete the selected files or not.

3. The most common cause of a slow PC as mentioned earlier is virus infection. The computer can be infected after browsing a malicious website like pornography sites. Adware or spyware can be installed in the computer where in it can display several advertisements on the computer. This will gradually slow down the loading of programs and makes it impossible to work continuously.

Speed up computer by installing a reliable antivirus program. It is recommended that antivirus programs must be installed before using the computer especially when it is a brand new computer.

4. Sometimes unnecessary programs are installed in the computer that is not used frequently. Like for instance games, programs that you have forgotten to remove after trying it or trial programs.

Open the Control Panel and open Add/Remove Programs feature. This will display all the programs that are installed in the computer. Browse the list and look for the programs that you are not using then remove it. After removing programs always make it a point to restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Also if possible, look for the folder associated with the program under Program Files and delete the folders.

5. Programs that are running in start up can also slow down the computer. If a program automatically starts in Windows reboot it will access the memory and this can take up a space. And if several programs are running in start up all at once, the programs will compete on accessing the memory. This will make it harder for the computer to start completely.

To speed up computer start up, do not check the option that says “Automatically start on Windows Reboot”. This option is usually seen under the Settings of the program.

Registry cleaners are also important tools that you should have installed in the computer. This will help you maintain the registry and computer performance in good shape.

  1. Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software's, install new devices,
download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
    Clean registry make pc faster.

  2. What are your PC specs? If you just meet the minimum requirements to play the game then it will be slow and laggy, this is a very resource hungry game. You need a fast dual-core processor or even better a quad core processor to play this game well.

I found that the processor was more important than the graphics card, I had a 3.2Ghz Pentium D (dual core) processor and a 256MB Nvidia GeForce 8600GT graphics card and 2Gig of RAM running the game on medium settings, but it was jerky and laggy, I bought a quad core and a 9600GT but only changed the processor at first and it ran a hell of a lot better, I did change the card then and I can't really say it runs better it just looks better because I can use the higher settings – though still medium/high not very high.

It may be you would need to upgrade your processor and/or graphics card to run the game better.

  6. You need to overclock it and buy a water cooled.

    What is overclock?Introduction

Many people probably don't know what overclocking is but have possibly heard the term used before. To put it in its simplest terms, overclocking is taking a computer component such as a processor and running at a specification higher than rated by the manufacturer. Every part produced by companies such as Intel and AMD are rated for a specific speeds. They have tested the capabilities of the part and certified it for that given speed. Of course, most parts are underrated for increased reliability. Overclocking a part simply takes advantage of the remaining potential out of a computer part that the manufacturer is unwilling to certify the part for but it is capable of.

    Why Overclock a Computer?

The primary benefit of overclocking is additional computer performance without the increased cost. Most individuals who overclock their system either want to try and produce the fastest desktop system possible or to extend their computer power on a limited budget. In some cases, individuals are able to boost their system performance 25% or more! For example, a person may buy something like an AMD 2500+ and through careful overclocking end up with a processor that runs at the equivalent processing power as a AMD 3000+, but at a greatly reduced cost.

There are drawbacks to overclocking a computer system. The biggest drawback to overclocking a computer part is that you are voiding any warranty provided by the manufacturer because it is not running within its rated specification. Overclocked parts that are pushed to their limits also tend to have a reduced functional lifespan or even worse, if improperly done, can be destroyed completely. For that reason, all overclocking guides on the net will have a disclaimer warning individuals of these facts before telling you the steps to overclocking.

  7. The sense to be made? No yet it does young man! Tit for tat or tat for tit. He changed the rules governing fair play. Did you respond to the rule change? Is it over ? No, but how you deal with this senior in the future depends on the circumstances at the time. Do you dictate the circumstance or not? On the court or not , in school or not: how important is your dominance? For me, a man, very , for you not very!If it had been you would have already exerted your dominance. In the scope of life this is a learning experience to be more observant! Animals don't bite without warning, in general. If it's that important to you no warning cause you are not an animal! Make Him a bed Wetter!

  8. i love the 60’s dances…

  9. One thing i do is go to:
    start menu; run; type msconfig
make it selective startup on general tab
then go to startup tab and un check any processes that you dont need running in the back ground these build up after time.
Don't check off the important stuff like virus protection or fire wall
but check off software junk like i tune updates Ect……

P.S always check for spyware, virus , and redundant registry files use security software for this

  10. if i just could marry you (going back in time)

  11. Will it run? Yes, but very, very poorly. Crysis is a very graphical game, and heavily relies on the video card.

The ATI Radeon X1250 is an on-board video solution, meaning it shares your RAM, which is quite stressful on your system.

I've seen videos of this card running it on YouTube, but at unplayable frames per second, something stupid like 10fps. Since we see at around 40fps, it'll be quite choppy.

Sorry that this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but lets be realistic here, Crysis is a high-end game! (This was written in 2008, so when we re-visit this in 2015, lets all point and laugh)

  12. What about your GPU? Your CPU is not enough to tell how well it will run.

If you don't know what I'm talking about and you're running a Windows operating system, press the Windows key (bottom row second from the left) and the Pause/Break key (top row towards the right). Your "System" screen will open up. Under Vista, from the left side bar, click "Device Manager" or in XP, go to the Hardware tab and open the "Device Manager"

From the device manager that opens, expand "Display Adapters" and tell us what it says there.

EDIT: Yes, you should be good for this game to play it at mid-to-high settings.

  13. kinda looks alot like anna faris…i think

  14. she’s french, i know, heheh, i was referring to the audiences reaction :D

  15. why doesn’t she sing in binary ?

  16. Well there are several reason to this
So I just need to confirm a few little details.

If you moved application files, games and pictures to the external hard drive, the 2.0 USB connection speed is very limited.

This results in data exchange being limited, thus your system will appear to be slower. For example it will take longer for your system to access photos on the external drive as opposed to the internal hard drive.

The device its self is described as plug in and play, as a result should have no impact on the speed at which the operating system runs.

All I can suggest is you run a system defragmentation of both your C:// Drive and the External Hard Drive. This will arrange the files so that the system can locate the quicker. *

    All the best

    Moose

    * Please ask a new question on help to run a defragmentation if needed.

  17. Cause she is recording for the german market.

  18. 1:25-1:26 Ses cheveux sont magnifiques quand ils ondulent comme ça. :)

  19. schön!

  20. It should run well, maybe not full settings. I wouldn't pay more than $450 for that. Especially because it only has 1 gb of ram, a mediocre graphics card, and an older processor.

It would benefit greatly from a RAM upgrade. You can buy 4GB of ddr2 899 for less than $50 now.

  21. She could have started Facebook right after she finshed this song. Song writer was way ahead of his time.

  22. You know this is spam right? I mean, its helpful and all, but most people who are building computers know what their doing. Also, this isn't in Question and Answer format, which is against the Community Guidelines.

Since your just trying to be helpful, in not reporting you, but please, post this on a Cnet forum, or some other desktop forum next time.

By the way, your video card info is wrong. There are quite a few video card designers, but most are either out of business, or not very known. 3DFX is one of them. The 3DFX Voodoo3 3000 was KING back in the late 90s, but then nVidia came around and knocked them out.

Anyway, the ATI Diamond Radeon HD 3870 x2 gets the same, if not better performance than the nVidia 9800 GX2. Also, the 8800s are knocked out by ATI's GDDR4 model video cards.

Another note, its ATI, AMDs subsidary that makes video cards. AMD is the processors.

And technically, they dont manufacture the cards, they design them. people like eVGA manufacture them.

  23. Thank you for giving e an answer.
    ???????????????????

  24. reset your router, and just ditch vista, it sucks get xp it uses less ram and such.

  25. i dont think its possible to use dial up on XBL sorry….
    to slow

  26. shes not german

  27. i love how the germans express their joy.

  28. Disk defrag only rearranges the information on you hard drive, it will not usually give you more space. Other programs will compress it but can lead to longer read times. If you have a desktop and not a notebook I would say your best bet is to purchase an additional hard drive. Installing a new hard drive is very simple. First you must determine what types connections the motherboard in your computer can support. Today, the best connection is called serial ATA or SATA. An older type or connection is IDE.

After determining weather you need a SATA or IDE hard drive you just buy that type of hard drive with the appropriate SATA or IDE cord and plug it into the port on your motherboard. Finally, you attach the power from the power supply in your computer. The power supply should have an extra connection which you can plug directly into your IDE hard drive. Some SATA hard drives only accept a SATA power cable. Most of these come with a converter that attaches that same power cable from the power supply and allows you to connect it to the SATA power port on the hard drive. After both connections have been made, just boot up your computer and you're finished.

If this sounds too complicated, any computer shop will be able to do this while you wait. It's been a while since I've purchased a hard drive but Western Digital and Seagate were a couple top brands.

Here is a picture of a SATA motherboard jack:

Here is a picture of an IDE motherboard jack:

I'm sure you can find a good guide to installing any hard drive by searching google.

    Hope this helps.

  29. Like at 0:45 ?
    That’s what you call exuberance!

  30. Oh my god is that Hermann Goering at 0:49?

  31. Firstly, if you don't know how to get out of a problem you should not start it. I reccomend keeping to the normal Windows cleaning services which are actually made for Windows. Windows checks your computers performance and settings when you install it but any other programs do not. Also I have had this problem, keep checking the file thing and keep on doing it on and on and you should get it fixed.

If this doesn't work you possibly have a D Drive which stores recovery files of what came with your computer. When your computer boots press F11 to launch this and you should be able to fix the problem by restoring it to an earlier date or if that doesn't work you can reset it to factory conditions (when you bought it). I have done this many of times.

  32. That’s some sweet dance moves

  33. hmmmm, nice skirt :-) Btw, in the sixties the clothing industry invented miniskirts, because they sold them to the equal prize than long skirts (but they didn’t need as much material than for long skirts). So they gained the profits…
