Linux vs Ubuntu
Yes, there is more to Linux Ubuntu. As you probably know, there are many different types of Linux to choose from, even if they are not all received the attention they deserve. These are organized into different distributions (distributions) and each is different. If you’ve read our previous Beginner’s Guide to Linux, you’re already familiar with the advice about the choice, we have given the right of distribution to meet your needs. This guide will shed more light on some of the distributions in use today and to cover the benefits or disadvantages of each.
For comparison, we have personally tested each distribution and the critical function of several distinct areas: appearance, ease of use, system administration, software and package management, security, and the level of support available for distribution. We rated each factor on a scale of zero to five: 0 – Abysmal or nonexistent; 1 – Very Poor 2 – Needs Improvement 3 – Average 4 – Good, 5 – Excellent. We hope this guide will give you a better understanding of the current state of Linux, so you can make an informed decision on choosing the right distro without just failing to Ubuntu (which we have included in this summary)
